Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Snoring and Sleep Apnea.  Sleep apnea is caused by a collapse of the upper air way during sleep.  Strong snoring can be a symptom but what makes apnea different are brief interruptions in breathing.  Sleep apnea is closely linked to high blood pressure, heart failure and stroke. There is an estimated 12 million adult Americans that have sleep apnea but most go undiagnosed or treated.  There is treatment that may help in the prevention of snoring and sleep apnea.  We are able to make a device that is worn in the mouth to help open the upper airway and diminish the effect of a blocked airway.  If you are a heavy snorer experiencing poor sleep you owe it to yourself and your family to seek help and lower your health risk.  Our office can help.
